Wild Digital Southeast Asia 2020 goes virtual, highlighting region’s disruptive startups

Southeast Asia, with its young and tech-savvy population, is undoubtedly a hotspot for tech investors right now. Wild Digital Southeast Asia 2020, a conference backed by Catcha Group, is set to dive into this ecosystem with a fully virtual four-day conference.

The conference’s sixth edition will reflect the changes happening this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Right now, we are witnessing first-hand the effects of remote working, the boom of e-commerce platforms, the rise of telehealth, and other tech-centric impacts on the collective community,” said Catcha Group CEO and co-founder Patrick Grove in a statement. “We’re excited to bring these topics to the fore on our main stage.”

The event will bring more than 180 speakers from notable startups such as Carousell and Ninja Van onto attendees’ computer screens. For those looking for investor perspectives, partners from active venture capital firms in the region, such as East Ventures and Kickstart Ventures, will share their insights on stage as well. Wild Digital promises exposure and networking opportunities for startups looking for opportunities in Southeast Asia.

There will also be a live pitching session called Startup Disruptor Arena. The winner will get the chance to participate in the Startup World Cup in Silicon Valley next year, with a grand prize of USD 1 million.

Established in 2004, Kuala Lumpur-based Catcha Group holds over 60 investments in its portfolio, mostly in online classifieds, new media, and over-the-top (OTT) services. The group has a total of five IPOs, including iCar Asia’s listing on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Tickets for this event is available here.
