With the coronavirus outbreak, surfaces that get touched by many, and could be harboring germs, are now under the microscope. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), a single cough can produce up to 3,000 droplets, each potentially carrying Covid-19.
The NIH also found that the SARS-CoV-2 virus can survive up to 72 hours on stainless-steel and plastic surfaces. This is why millions of Chinese across the country have started using both low and high tech ways to take the elevator, all without directly touching any buttons.
