Video | Five local brands in China’s growing coffee market

By the end of 2019, Luckin Coffee had opened more shops than that of Starbucks across China. It was an incredible achievement considering how far they had come in such a short amount of time. Less than half a year later, allegations of fraud sent their stock tumbling and left their reputation in ruins.

While Luckin became one of the biggest names in Chinese coffee, it was far from the only brand available. We take a look at five brands, ranging from chains to specialty stores, to see the impact they’ve had on China’s coffee scene.
