Tech in Asia, one of the leading startup and technology news portals in Asia, is set to kick off its flagship conference in Jakarta on October 8-9 this year.
The annual event has brought together entrepreneurs, investors, government representatives and other ecosystem stakeholders since 2012. Starting out with just hosting several hundreds of delegates in its first year, the conference has attracted more and more attention.
This year, it’s targeting to attract 6,000 visitors, over 150 speakers and more than 250 investors from Indonesia and overseas.
Among the confirmed keynote speakers and panellists are:
- Rohit Sipahimalani, the joint head of the Investment Group at Temasek International
- Randy Jusuf, the managing director of Google Indonesia
- Jason Thompson, the CEO of OVO
- William Tanuwijaya, the co-founder and CEO of Tokopedia
- Achmad Zaky, the co-founder and CEO of Bukalapak
One Blockbuster event
In previous years, Tech in Asia held separate annual conferences in Singapore, Indonesia, and Tokyo. Starting in 2019, it has decided to consolidate its conference series into one international flagship event – the Tech in Asia Conference.
Indonesia is chosen as the destination due to its immense potential and relevance for the emerging technology and startup scene in Asia.
Along with a full program of over 50 keynote presentations, interviews, and panels on four stages, the event brings back some of the mainstays of previous Tech in Asia Conferences, including the startup competition Arena Pitch Battle, and Investor Speed Dating, where startups get the chance to pitch to VCs.
