Chun Li has experience in e-commerce and global supply chain management from his previous position as the CTO at the Alibaba Group’s B2B business unit. He also held several executive positions at eBay and PayPal.

Chun Li succeeds Alessandro Piscini who was appointed as Lazada Indonesia’s CEO in June 2018. According to his Linkedin page, Piscini worked with the Lazada Group for over six years. In 2015 he was the CEO of Lazada Thailand before being transferred to lead the Indonesian market. Now Piscini decided to leave the company to build a digital commerce startup called Crea in Bangkok.

Besides Indonesia, there have also been changes in Lazada’s leadership in Vietnam. Earlier this month, Lazada’s Thailand CEO James Dong began to lead the Vietnam operations to strengthen cross-country collaboration in these two markets. Dong succeeded Max Zhang in the role of Vietnam CEO while Zhang remains a part of the Alibaba Group.
