China’s courier industry has delivered 60 billion parcels in 2019 as of December 18 morning, taking up half of the world’s total delivery load, according to the Chinese State Post Bureau (SPB), as reported by People’s Daily.
Divided by the country’s 14 billion population, it means that each Chinese citizen received 42 deliveries on average in the year. Two weeks ahead of the new year, the number of parcels delivered is already higher than China’s 2018 record of 51 billion parcels, surpassing Japan, US, Europe, and other countries for the sixth consecutive year.
