Gojek launches GoService together with JumpaPay, pushes third-party integration even further

Indonesia’s unicorn ride-hailing app Gojek on Monday announced that it will collaborate with JumpaPay on its newly launched GoService, which allows customers to pay taxes and carry out certain administrative tasks.

JumpaPay was founded by Zulfan Fajar in 2018. It’s an O2O (online-to-offline) e-government and professional services company that caters to vehicle owners helping them file their annual road and vehicle taxes and other related documentation services. The company is backed by the government-owned PT Telkom Indonesia.

Gojek points out the benefit that the integration as “third-party platform” brings to its ecosystem, from time savings to a higher comfort for the user. GoService includes the possibility to extend the annual vehicle registration certificate, to pay car taxes, and to renew the vehicle plate license that is due every five years. The company estimates that it can trim the time for tax payment from hours to between five to ten minutes.

“With this new feature, we also expect to increase people’s compliance in paying vehicle tax,” said Sony Radhityo, head of third-party platforms at Gojek. Outstanding bills can also be settled through GoPay.

Currently, GoService only offers license plate payment for the greater Jakarta area, but it will gradually reach more cities across Indonesia. With the new feature, Gojek adds another third-party platform service to its current offer that includes “GoGive”, “GoMed”, “GoMall”, “GoFitness”, “GoSure”, and “GoInvestasi”.

Radhityo names the “loyal user base” and “advanced platform technology” as main attributes of this third-party approach. “We deliver products and services that make life easier and become a mainstay for the community in their daily activities,” he said. It has helped partners to expand the scope and scale their business, by increasing total transactions of various services, which have cumulatively more than tripled in the past year.
