Indonesian unicorn Go-Jek acquired Bangalore-based AI recruitment platform AirCTO, Your Story reports.
AirCTO’s team members will join Go-Jek following the acquisition. Founded by Atif Haider, AirCTO helps companies find the best talent through a sourcing process that includes vetting the technical skills of the candidates.
Go-Jek will utilize AirCTO’s tech solutions so the company can scale up its hiring process in order to support its rapid development across Southeast Asia, according to Sidu Ponnapa, Go-Jek India’s Managing Director.
Besides the acquisition, Go-Jek is further strengthening its presence in India by opening an office in the city of Gurugram with the aim to hire over 100 people and expand operations. It wants to set up a product division for Go-Food, Go-Jek’s largest India-based product team, at the new office.
Despite being a product that’s only available in Indonesia and some other Southeast Asian countries, Go-Jek has a history of acquiring Indian tech firms to boost its tech capabilities. It first opened an office in India in 2016.
