Ctrip and Uhomes launch an airport pickup service for Chinese overseas students

Online travel agency Ctrip has partnered with Uhomes, an overseas home rental and buying platform focused on Chinese consumers, to launch an airport limousine service for Chinese international students, China.com reports.

The app, Yixiang Jieji, which translates to foreign airport pickup, asks users to input their flight details and pickup address and choose among a list of available limousine and shuttle buses at set prices.

It provided these students with a convenient, safe and reliable solution when they first set foot on foreign land, to avoid the difficulties around a lack of familiarity with the local language, and transportation options and prices.

More than 660,000 Chinese studied abroad in 2018—the largest of any country—and this number could rise with the growing popularity of international schools in China as well as the country’s expanding economy.

The app’s service includes 24/7 Chinese customer support, while drivers will wait up to 90 minutes at no cost when picking up customers from the airport, and 30 minutes when sending customers to the airport. Free cancellations and reschedules are also available for flights delayed longer than two hours.
