CHINA BRIEF | Tencent and Black Shark joint-release first 5G gaming smartphone

Tencent and Black Shark, a gaming-centric gadgets maker backed by Xiaomi, have jointly unveiled two 5G-capable gaming smartphones, the Tencent Black Shark 3 and Tencent Black Shark 3 Pro, on Tuesday night in a livestreamed event.

The two devices come equipped with Snapdragon 865 chipsets, a refresh rate of 90HZ and two charging ports supporting 65W fast Charging.

The Black Shark 3 starts from RMB 3,499 (USD 502) and uses a 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED panel. The Pro version begins at RMB 4,699 (USD 673), has a 7.1-inch 1440p panel, and is equipped with a voice control feature that lets gamers perform some in-game actions through voice command.
