CHINA BRIEF | Bilibili to offer Sony music videos on its platform

Chinese online video site Bilibili has announced Wednesday a strategic partnership with US global music conglomerate Sony Music Entertainment, to provide its users copyrighted music videos from Sony’s massive content pool.

Bilibili launched a dedicated themed page yesterday regarding this partnership, featuring musicians and singers whose tracks are already or will be soon available on Bilibili, including Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Bob Dylan, Oasis, and Britney Spears, among others.

All the videos will be uploaded by a verified account named Sony Music MV official account.

On March 18, Bilibili’s chief operating officer Li Ni announced during the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call that the video platform entered a collaboration with Sony Music to bring new experiences to its growing number of music lovers.
