XL Axiata also plans to implement a Google Cloud data analysis platform that can be scaled to improve customer experience through data-based technology and AI. The launch of the Google Cloud platform region in Jakarta will enable XL Axiata to store, process, and analyze data in real time and locally to better serve old and new customers in Indonesia.

“We are committed to modernizing our infrastructure to increase business flexibility and accelerate application deployment,” said Yessie D Yosetya, chief information and digital officer at XL Axiata. “Anthos is ideal for us because it allows us to adopt containers while allowing Google, the leader in Kubernetes technology, to manage container infrastructure for us.”

High speed connectivity

As a Google Cloud interconnect partner, XL and Google Cloud can provide high-speed connectivity for Indonesians customers. The data transfer capabilities between five XL Axiata data centers and Google’s global network will reduce the number of vulnerable points where the traffic experienced interference.

“With Anthos, we provide a consistent platform for XL Axiata to spread workload both locally and in the cloud so that it can accelerate its digital transformation. Our collaboration in Partner Interconnection will also enable large and small companies in Indonesia to get access to high-speed connectivity to create a customer experience that was not previously possible,” said Megawaty Khie, country director Indonesia of Google Cloud.
