Intudo Ventures leads USD 3.25 million investment in Indonesian entertainment company Visinema

Visinema, an Indonesia-based entertainment and intellectual property (IP) development company, has raised USD 3.25 million in Series A funding led by Intudo Ventures, with participation from GDP Venture and Ancora Capital.

The company will use its fresh funds to expand its animation production capacity, and it will release its first animated film this year, according to an official statement. It also plans to add new team members and drive international expansion to share Indonesian stories with a broader audience in Southeast Asia and around the world.

Founded in June 2008, Visinema conceptualizes, produces, and distributes content across several formats, including film, television, and digital. The company’s core business units are Visinema Pictures, which develops movies for theatrical releases, and Visinema Content, which produces serial content for platforms like Netflix, Iflix, and GoPlay. In addition to these divisions, Visinema has a comprehensive end-to-end studio ecosystem for film development—Visinema Music produces and monetizes music for films, Visinema Campus recruits relevant talent, and Skriptura is a writers room for creative and IP development.

The company has partnered with both multinational and local brands to produce quality digital content. These include Unilever, Danone, Mayora, Toyota, Blibli, and JD.id.

“Indonesia’s domestic film industry has experienced rapid growth over the past few years, both in terms of feature-length films and unique content formats, and there continues to be significant demand for high-grade local content. With in-house produced Hollywood-caliber content, we believe that Visinema is well-positioned to tell more Indonesian stories to audiences both domestically and around the world,” said Patrick Yip, founding partner at Intudo Ventures, in a statement.

With this new investment, Visinema aspires to be a major player in the region’s entertainment sector and beyond, according to the firm’s founder and CEO Angga Dwimas Sasongko. “By expanding our synergistic business lines and leveraging our IP assets for ancillary purposes, we expect this multi-dimensional approach to bear fruit for Indonesia’s entertainment industry for years to come,” he said.
