Thailand e-sport startup Infofed secures pre-Series A funding by Japan’s GameWith

Bangkok-based e-sport startup Infofed has raised an undisclosed amount of investment in its pre-Series A funding round from Japan’s gaming community GameWith.

The company announced that it will use the fresh investment to expand its presence in Southeast Asia, in particular, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia by 2020, and to achieve the company’s mission of “making e-sport happen anywhere, anytime”.

Founded in 2015, Infofed operates online and offline e-sport platforms and provides E-sports services to local and international brands.

Its online platform called eArena.com is a space for professional gamers to held online game tournaments, while its offline platform, Thailand e-sport Arena, provides infrastructures needed to boost e-sport development in the country. According to its website, the arena has hosted more than 50 events within ten months.

Infofed’s founder and CEO Jirayod Theppipit said that the company’s partnership with GameWith will help them to establish a stronghold in Southeast Asia. “Following this round, we expect to roll out several eSports collaborations that will enhance our position as an industry leader, as well as create 10,000 industry-related jobs for the digital-savvy generation in this region by 2025,” Jirayod added.

Prior to this funding, Infofed closed its seed funding round in 2018. The company has been investing over USD 1.6 million into the Infofed ecosystem including e-sport production and event organization, and into a division for e-sport streamers and influencers management.
