Indonesia-based startup The Fit Company acquired three local wellness startups—Slim Gourmet, Wellnezz Indonesia, and Fitco—to boost the development of the country’s wellness ecosystem, according to an official statement.
Slim Gourmet is a catering company focused on healthy food. All of the menu preparation at Slim Gourmet is supervised by a team of certified nutritionists to ensure that every meal has the right amount of nutrients. Customers can also request a special menu according to their dietary needs and medical history.
Meanwhile, Wellnezz Indonesia connects freelance trainers and coaches to customers. Founded in late 2018, the startup has a database of 50 coaches and 2.000 active users, the statement said.
The last startup, Fitco, developed an exercise app that provides rewards for users based on the number of steps users made and rewards them with incentives after they achieve step goals at a certain level. Users can also book classes at a boutique gym under The Fit Company network and pay them with the points or incentives they get through the app.
Through this acquisition, The Fit Company plans to integrate all the startups’ features and services into one platform to make it easier for users to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In its statement, The Fit Company said it plans to launch this platform in the third quarter of 2019.
The Fit Company raised an undisclosed amount of funds led by East Ventures in January 2019 and the three new startups complement the firm’s existing business lines, namely fitness tech distributor Kredoaum, boutique gym network 20Fit, fitness center FitStop, healthy restaurant Fit Lokal, and healthy instant noodles brand Fitmee.
