Daily Digest | So many super apps

Hey. It’s Brady here.

I landed in Singapore this week. Ahead of my flight, I downloaded Grab, Gojek, and a couple other apps that so many people deem essential for modern living in the city-state. My personal apprehension toward ride apps and meal deliveries aside, sure, why not, they might come in handy.

Gojek banned me before I could use its app for the first time. I have no idea why. Grab it is then. Oh wait, there were outages…

Anyway, Gojek wants you to know that they’re bringing new services to Singapore. They will have roomier vehicles that cost more to ride in. Already, the company has released a B2B application that manages staff transportation budgets, surge pricing protection, and what sounds like a common sense feature—a pick-up location adjustment.
